Maintenance Officer Job Description

About Our Care Home

Our care home is a modern facility located in a scenic area, close to the city and parklands. We have multiple communities with clinical care managers and registered nurses who focus on the health, lifestyle, and well-being of our residents.

About This Role

As a maintenance officer, you will provide quality and timely maintenance services across the care home, ensuring facilities are maintained to an exceptional standard that aligns with regulatory requirements and resident preferences. You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of property services, including repairs and maintenance, to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for our residents.

Duties

  • Identify and carry out preventative maintenance, repair, and improvement works to the building, grounds, and equipment in line with maintenance schedules.
  • Partake in and lead continuous improvement or corrective activities associated with the care home facilities.
  • Assist in developing repair and maintenance budgets, monitoring actual utilisation, and escalating over expenditure.
  • Document and communicate team and individual performance expectations.
  • Manage the work of maintenance, cleaning, and laundry assistants across shifts in view of dining requirements.

Requirements

  • Formal qualifications at post-trade or advanced certificate or associate diploma level, or relevant skills training or experience.
  • Experience in property maintenance and building works.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in occupational health and safety.
  • The ability to solve problems independently.
