About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our Conference and Events team at The Star Gold Coast. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional food and beverage experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Chef de Cuisine in leading the team and ensuring consistency in high-quality product and service standards.
  • Monitor daily operations, payroll, costs, and guest satisfaction.
  • Participate in menu preparation and development.
  • Assist with rostering and leave applications.
  • Develop training plans and support daily learning.
  • Participate in shift briefings to ensure a smooth handover.
Requirements
  • Senior Chef experience required in a 5-star environment or large restaurant.
  • Previous experience in a high-quality food operation.
  • Experience driving quality and consistency, with a passion for a diverse range of food and a keen desire for continuous learning.
  • Ability to ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchens.
  • Previous knowledge of food and labour cost controls.
  • A warm, naturally engaging personality that takes pride in delivering a memorable product.
  • Basic computer skills essential.
  • Full working rights to commit to 40 hours a week, which can include day shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
