About the Qhse Trainee Role:
The trainee will work closely with internal stakeholders on risk assessments, incident investigations, and updating HSE information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with risk assessments and conduct site-level QHSE risk assessments
- Plan and coordinate activities, including emergency response scenarios
- Record outcomes on the Emergency Response Review Form and follow up on scenario outcomes
- Distribute procedures or documents and upload requested acknowledgement or training forms
- Conduct in-house procedure retraining following the activity planner
- Complete Improvement Forms and Incident Reports accurately and generate best outcomes
- Keep the team updated on all Health & Safety matters
- Update QHSE noticeboards regularly
- Ensure registers are reviewed and updated following the Activity Planner
- Train and develop staff
- Conduct company & regulatory QHSE inspections and update systems
- Assist managers with inductions for new staff, temporary employees, extended visitors & contractors
- Participate in internal & external audits
- Report incidents and record meeting/training minutes correctly
Requirements:
- Qualifications in Diploma of Work Health & Safety or Certificate IV Work Health and Safety
- Eagerness to learn and take on additional training where identified or required
- Basic understanding of data analysis & reporting measures
