Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team on a 6-month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing weekly and monthly payrolls, managing Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting, and providing advice to employees on payroll-related matters.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process payrolls, including new starters, timesheet reviews, and pay adjustments.
  • Manage STP reporting and ensure timely submission to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
  • Provide expert advice to employees on all payroll matters.
  • Interpret policies, employment agreements, awards, and legislations to ensure compliance.
  • Calculate Long Service Leave and Termination Pays with accuracy.
  • Process commission payments and workers' compensation claims efficiently.
  • Balancing payroll ledger accounts and reconciling Payroll Tax, PAYG Tax, FBT, Superannuation, and Income Statement.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 2-5 years experience in end-to-end payroll functions in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance.
  • Experience with General Ledger (GL) and accounting principles related to payroll.
  • Prior work in a fast-paced environment handling payroll reconciliations and statutory reporting is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Single Touch Payroll (STP) and other statutory reporting requirements is essential.
