We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join our team. This is a challenging opportunity for someone who wants to drive business value and innovation in the procurement function.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, delivering, and executing sourcing strategies for assigned categories. This includes analyzing market trends, identifying market developments, and conducting category reviews to drive business understanding of these markets and how best to utilize the capabilities of suppliers and industry developments to deliver a competitive advantage.
This role involves leading sourcing initiatives, including RFX processes, negotiations, supplier selection, contracting, and implementation. The Category Manager will also act as a strategic business partner, proactively engaging with cross-functional stakeholders to influence decisions, support innovation, and unlock end-to-end value.
In addition, the Category Manager will be responsible for building strong understanding of market dynamics, commodity/cost drivers, inflation trends, and supply risks. They will translate insights into actions that mitigate risk and enhance resilience.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar category management role, specifically in indirect corporate and commercial services. They should possess strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of sourcing and contracting processes.
The Category Manager will also need to demonstrate ability to influence and engage cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders. Experience developing category strategies and leading complex supplier negotiations is also essential.
Achieving cost and value optimization is key to this role. The successful candidate will champion the total cost of assigned categories by identifying and implementing novel and creative ways to reduce costs, improve quality, enhance innovation, and improve total value for money.
The Category Manager will actively manage the spend area's P&L, including ownership of the annual operating plan and regular forecast updates. They will also develop collaborative relationships with strategic suppliers to drive performance, innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
