Job Summary

We are seeking a Support Specialist to play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for individuals with disabilities.

About the Role:

  • Maintaining Cleanliness:
    • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces in common areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and recreational spaces.
    • Ensure that all cleaning activities meet the specific needs and sensitivities of individuals with disabilities.
  • Sanitation and Infection Control:
    • Follow established protocols for sanitizing and disinfecting surfaces to prevent the spread of infections and maintain a hygienic environment.
    • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Collaboration:
    • Coordinate with other support staff to ensure a seamless and integrated approach to maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and support staff regarding any issues related to cleanliness or facility maintenance.
  • Respect for Individual Needs:
    • Demonstrate sensitivity and respect for the privacy and personal space of individuals with disabilities.
    • Adapt cleaning practices to accommodate specific requirements and preferences of clients.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to minimize risks for clients, staff, and yourself.
    • Report any safety concerns or maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate authorities.
  • Flexibility:
    • Be adaptable to changes in scheduling and tasks as needed to meet the dynamic needs of the disability support services.
