MLC School is an independent, non-selective Uniting Church school for girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 in Sydney's inner-west.

Cadet Program Overview

The Cadet Program at MLC School offers students a unique opportunity to develop valuable life skills, such as teamwork, leadership, and communication, while promoting a sense of confidence and group cohesion.

The Officer of Cadets plays a vital role in supporting students in the Cadet Program, providing pastoral care and guidance to ensure their success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend and actively participate in Home Training at Newington College every other Friday afternoon.
  • Support the Cadet Coordinator with regard to school guidelines, rules and expectations of the students undertaking the Cadet program.
  • Report any incidents/accidents through the chain of command and according to time guidelines.
  • Model behaviours that inspire staff and students and adhere to the Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures of the School.
Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Current First Aid and CPR Qualifications.
  • A valid Working with Children Check.
About the Position

This is a casual, part-time position that requires flexibility and availability to work on a regular basis, approximately every second Friday afternoon during term time.

You will be responsible for the pastoral care of students in the Cadet Program, supporting them to gain a sense of confidence and group cohesion, while promoting a culture of respect, teamwork and initiative.
