About the Role

MQ Health is seeking a Junior Resident Medical Officer to join our Doctors in Training Program. This role provides clinical services and participates in the teaching and research environment of MQ Health.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians in a diverse spectrum of Medical and Surgical specialties, collaborate with groups across MQ Health on research projects, and participate in educational activities.

  • Be mentored and work alongside experienced clinicians in a diverse spectrum of Medical and Surgical specialties
  • Collaborate with groups across MQ Health to participate in research projects
  • Be exposed to a wide range of clinical conditions and treatment for these, including advanced procedural interventions
  • Supervise and train students and other Doctors in Training in collaboration with the Macquarie University Medical School
  • Contribute to educational activities with MQ Health

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide clinical service within the scope of practice granted by the Advisory Committee and approved by the Board to patients of MUH and the Clinics.
  • Participate in and fulfil the duties and responsibilities as set out in the HETI term description provided for the term of the Internship.
  • Conduct initial assessment of patients including an accurately documented comprehensive patient history and, physical examination.
  • Formulate a management plan, order appropriate investigations in consultation with supervisors.
