The Opportunity

We're seeking applications for Entry Level Drafters/Designers to join our Digital Delivery Group business in Sydney. This is a rare opportunity to kick-start your drafting/design career with a diverse organisation dedicated to developing its people.

We have opportunities available for:

  • Trainees - Recently completed or nearing completion Year 12 students seeking a career as a drafter/designer.
  • Cadets – Currently studying an Associate Degree / Advanced Diploma in Engineering.

Under direct supervision, you will learn drafting and design skills across one of many industry sectors and become competent in the use of AutoCAD and other design software.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in preparing drawings using AutoCAD and other software in fields like architecture & interiors, civil infrastructure, transport, and water.
  • Collaborating with senior team members on technical tasks and taking guidance in support of your role.
  • Developing knowledge of GHD's Corporate Drafting Manual and other systems.
  • Attending TAFE or University and maintaining Traineeship/Cadetship requirements.

What you will bring:

  • HSC completion with strong results in Mathematics and English.
  • Experience in AutoCAD desirable but not essential.
  • A desire to build a rewarding career as a professional drafter/designer.
  • Well-developed communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate computer skills and a positive attitude.
  • Genuine interest in technical drawing and engineering.
