Project Engineer Job

 

As a key member of our team, the Project Engineer will play a crucial role in driving and coordinating the various processes of heavy civil construction projects. This individual will work closely with the Project Manager and project team to ensure timely delivery of materials, maintain schedules and budgets, and manage submittal approvals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage work schedules and coordinate design changes and/or plan revisions with the project owners.
  • Work closely with field operations, vendors, and subcontractors to oversee project requirements and analyze specifications.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, track contract pay items, and update project information as needed.
  • Compile subcontractors' bids and estimates, distribute contract documents at the project site for input from Management.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to ensure compliance with project safety policies.
  • Assist the Project Manager with project setup and closeout procedures.
  • Process and track all Submittals & RFIs (including logs).
  • Create and maintain Project CPM Schedule w/logic input from Project Management and Field Operations.
  • Coordinate with Survey with project issues requiring survey involvement and/or RFI request.
  • Confirm that contract drawings are correctly conformed to EOR revisions, RFI's, and/or CSI modifications, etc.
  • Assist Project Manager with quarterly Look Ahead Schedules/Projected resource needs.
  • Provide accurate quantities from the field with assistance from the project superintendent for billing and cost control, projections, and cost to complete support.
  • Review Labor and Equipment reports with field personnel related to budget.
  • Schedule, track, and coordinate subcontractors and permanent materials deliveries.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent years of experience required.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with construction project management applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented office and field environment.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with clients and subcontractors.
