Job Description:

The successful candidate will lead the planning and coordination of the City's long-term Capital Works Program. This pivotal role ensures projects are well-defined, budgets are achievable, and delivery is efficient through proactive planning and strong stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities include aligning capital program planning with Council's strategic direction, leading the annual review of the 10-Year Capital Works Program, providing evidence-based advice and performance reporting, collaborating across teams to streamline planning and delivery, and building strategic relationships to advocate for community outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Align capital program planning with Council's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Lead the annual review of the 10-Year Capital Works Program to ensure projects are well-scoped, budgeted, and prioritised.
  • Provide expert advice and performance reporting to support informed decision-making and organisational objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline planning and delivery, reducing risks and ensuring realistic cost estimates and timelines.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, or significant hands-on experience in a similar role. Proven experience in capital works planning, project coordination, construction management, or infrastructure delivery is essential.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment, are highly valued.
