Strategic Capital Works Director

Description

We are seeking a results-driven leader to drive complex capital projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contracts, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with safety and building standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead strategic planning and performance initiatives across the City of Hobart.
  2. Lead service reviews to ensure the City's services are valued and delivered effectively and efficiently.
  3. Oversee project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet technical, safety, and environmental standards.
  4. Coordinate cross-functional teams and consultants to ensure cohesive project execution.
  5. Inspire a culture of innovation, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
About You

The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering major capital works projects and a strong track record of leadership in local government environments.

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Current Driver Licence.
  • White Card.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in delivery of capital projects in local government environment.
  • Additional studies in business, finance, urban planning and/or management.
