
Director of Business Growth

This is a key leadership position that contributes to the overall performance and revenue of the agency. The incumbent identifies and develops new business opportunities, serves as a valued leader and resource for clients and client account teams.
The successful candidate will have expertise in building and managing business and people, and will demonstrate a measurable contribution to the successful reputation and profitable growth of the organization. They will work closely with senior management to deliver the achievement of the agency's vision, values and management philosophies.
The role adds depth to client capabilities, leverages the full resources of the organization with clients and provides support to all other team members. They will have shown commitment to the organization beyond the role of effective account management and have demonstrated an understanding of how they can best contribute to the growth and leadership of the business.
- Provide exceptional leadership in areas of performance including management and professional skills.
- Develop a core area of expertise in one or more industries or communication disciplines and apply this expertise to the benefit of clients, potential clients and the organization.
- Pursue initiatives to expand our skill base and product capabilities.
- Lead the growth and development of the organization's core practice areas.
The Senior Leadership Role will also be responsible for managing overall financial performance of their client portfolio, developing and achieving company revenue and profitability projections, and completing timesheets daily in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage resources of the teams, ensuring staff billability and hours allocation for client work are updated and reviewed.
- Identify opportunities to 'farm' the client for additional services and provide strategic counsel to senior account managers, account directors and senior account managers who report into them.
- Manage overall performance assessment, training and development of relevant staff and conduct performance reviews and career development counseling for direct reports.
- Lead efforts to develop and achieve company revenue and profitability projections, and intervene with account teams and clients to address financial and billing issues when necessary.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the PR and social media landscape, and be able to maintain their knowledge of the latest thinking and practices in these areas. They will be committed to building a sense of one organization across all employees and to applying and enhancing all organizational resources and capabilities as a matter of course.
