Residential Youth Care Specialist

Anglicare Victoria is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Worker to join our team in providing care and support to young people in our residential care services.
About the RoleThis is a varied and rewarding role that involves working in a team to create a stable and nurturing environment for young people in care. You will support young people who have experienced significant trauma and help them develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.
As a Residential Youth Worker, you will be responsible for providing individual and group support to young people, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of care plans. You will work closely with other team members, including house coordinators and team leaders, to ensure that the needs of young people are met.

- Experience working with young people who have experienced significant trauma
- Understanding of how trauma can affect the development of young people
- Solid understanding of the Child Protection and Welfare system in Victoria
- Excellent written, verbal and collaborative communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a busy and dynamic program
Please note that it is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement. AV employees are required to either be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or have a medical exemption.
