Job Title: Indigenous Mentor

**Job Description:**

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Indigenous person to join our team as an Indigenous Mentor. This role will involve working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people aged between 15-24 years, providing culturally specific mentoring and guidance to help them develop the skills required to enter and stay in the workforce.

The successful candidate will have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, a solid understanding of local jobs and the barriers faced by disadvantaged young people, and be open to delivering workshops and group facilitation.

They will also possess proficient skills in using technology and systems, and be able to build relationships with employers to support and understand their needs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Mentoring young people who are in employment to ensure a sustainable pathway.
  • Connecting with elders and community organisations within the area to promote our Employment Services and gain new referrals.
  • Organising and running cultural activities and workshops once a week.
  • Educating the team and sharing culturally appropriate resources to help support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
  • Building and maintaining employer relationships locally who foster culturally safe workplaces.
