
Senior Rail Operations Coordinator

The Network Control Officer plays a vital role in the operation of our rail network, ensuring seamless day-to-day movements and facilitating access for maintenance activities 24/7.
This position is based at the Orange Network Control Centre but may require occasional relocation to the backup facility in Mayfield NSW in case of an emergency.
Main Responsibilities- After completing training, operate control equipment to authorise movements and prepare accurate train authorities for train and track work requirements
- Stay up-to-date with train locations and progress, accurately recording relevant details as required
- Respond promptly to emergencies and irregularities, providing timely and accurate reports
- Maintain compliance with safe working practices, codes of practice, procedures, and processes
- Plan train and track work schedules to avoid conflicts
- Issue instructions to rail crews and staff, ensuring events are correctly performed and reported in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with notices concerning signalling, safe working equipment, and rolling stock
- Process Ad-Hoc Train Paths from Operators received within the shift timeframe
- Assist track and other staff in reaching work destinations promptly for track work and testing of control equipment
- Provide comprehensive briefings to relieving Network Controllers at the end of each shift, outlining train positions and verbal instructions
- Log all matters affecting relief and ensure the relief is familiar with these matters at the end of a shift
- Upon commencing shift, read all entries and instructions to be familiar with matters affecting the commencing shift
- Participate in reviewing emergency and operational procedures to ensure continuous improvement
- Provide effective technical training to trainee Network Controllers when required, as part of the trainee program
- Perform duties in accordance with our policies, processes, systems, and procedures
