Maintenance engineers play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of rail networks.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Technical Maintenance Plans: Execute and support technical maintenance plans to guarantee compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Engineering Authority: Delegated authority to make informed decisions regarding asset integrity.
  • Defect Management: Monitor and assess defect management practices to ensure they meet contractual requirements, providing assurance of track safety and integrity.
  • Civil Asset Review: Assist civil maintenance engineers in reviewing track and civil asset performance analysis.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and utilize track and civil documents/data to produce progress and project performance reporting.
  • Risk Mitigation: Anticipate and fulfill specialist equipment requirements to minimize risks to health, safety, and project completion.
  • New Technologies: Investigate and deliver new technologies, including trial products.
  • Project Support: Support the process of project identification, prioritization, and scoping.
  • Incident Management: Assist maintenance superintendents with incident management and preparation of incident reports.

As a Rail Network Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for various key tasks that ensure the smooth operation of rail networks. These include executing and supporting technical maintenance plans, delegated engineering authority, monitoring and assessing defect management practices, assisting civil maintenance engineers, analyzing and utilizing data, anticipating and fulfilling specialist equipment requirements, investigating and delivering new technologies, supporting project processes, and assisting with incident management.
