Senior Advisor

This role entails implementing effective safety interface coordination, interacting with regulatory bodies, and reviewing/updating the safety management system under the direction of the Investigation and Regulatory Liaison Manager.

• Assist in enhancing Safety Interface Agreements to ensure compliance with Rail Safety National Law and Regulations.
• Ensure unsigned interface agreements are executed.
• Maintain (and improve as required) the interface register for UGL RL CRN operations.
• Organize regular meetings between stakeholders to discuss and resolve key safety issues and facilitate interface risk reviews.
• Document meeting outcomes and provide them to the Investigation and Regulatory Liaison Manager.
• Escalate safety interface coordination issues to the Investigation and Regulatory Liaison Manager and Planning and Assurance Manager when necessary.
• Conduct onsite risk assessments and update Safety Interface Agreement Risk assessments.
• Perform Internal SMS Audits and prepare reports on findings, outcomes, and recommendations.
• Enhance the UGLRL Safety Management System through continuous improvement.
• Provide input into SMS Safety Interface Coordination documents.
• Support ad hoc Planning and Assurance work and projects as needed.
• Liaise with emergency control organizations, attending meetings and assisting with planning and implementing exercises.

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Safety, Business, or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience or qualifications in Rail Safety, understanding of Rail Safety National Law and RSNL National Regulations as they apply to Interface agreements.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
• Ideal experience in the rail industry or another safety-critical industry, with a sound understanding of Rail Safety National Law and RSNL National Regulations.
• Familiarity with Safety Interface Coordination principles.
