Compliance Specialist - Governance

Job Summary:

Seeking a Compliance Specialist to develop and implement governance frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement compliance management systems to monitor and report on council requirements.
  • Provide strategic advice on governance frameworks to the Audit and Risk Committee, Executive Management Team, and Council.
  • Lead key stakeholders in maintaining compliance with legal and statutory obligations.
Requirements:
  • Experience implementing ISO 19600:2014 and/or ISO 37301:2021.
  • Knowledge of Local Government Act and general understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Ability to design and maintain systems for monitoring compliance functions.
  • Strong attention to detail, data management, and report formatting skills.
  • Knowledge of mobile devices and software, with confidence using MS Office Suite.
  • Research and analysis skills to benchmark and identify opportunities for governance improvement.
