Job Title: Wine Expert

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable wine professional to join our team. As the face of our wine program, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional wine experiences to our guests.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of local, national, and international wines, including their characteristics, pairing options, and market trends.
  • Provide expert recommendations to guests, ensuring a personalized and memorable experience.
  • Work closely with the service team to ensure seamless execution of wine service, including wine pouring, glassware selection, and tableside presentations.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine pairings and menus that showcase our restaurant's commitment to quality and innovation.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments, making recommendations for wine list updates and additions.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Sommelier or Wine Waitstaff in a fine dining and/or high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Basic knowledge of wine regions, grape varieties, and wine styles.
  • Passion for wine and the industry, with a desire to continuously learn and improve.
  • Exceptional service skills, including excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Outgoing personality and genuine interest in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of pressure.
  • Possess a valid Certificate of Responsible Service of Alcohol.
  • WSET or CMS qualification or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Available to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Must have full Australian work rights.
