Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading our Child Death and Serious Injury Review Committee.

This involves conducting in-depth reviews of deaths and serious injuries to identify trends and patterns.

The aim is to contribute to the prevention of child deaths and serious injuries, and to inform policy and practice changes across government.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide high-level expertise on complex matters related to child safety and wellbeing.
  2. Lead and manage the Committee's death review processes to influence legislation, policy, and practice.
  3. Initiate and lead processes that support the delivery of complex reports on sensitive matters.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve strategic goals and outcomes.
  5. Develop and maintain policies and processes to ensure effective child death review functions.
  6. Manage administrative, financial, and human resource matters.

Qualifications

Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification in management, psychology, business, law, or policy.

The successful applicant will be required to gain a Department for Human Services working with children check prior to employment.
