Ecologist Opportunity

Umwelt is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Ecologist with 2+ years of experience to join our national biodiversity team.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or post-graduate qualification in environmental science, botany, zoology or a similar field, and demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating and undertaking flora and/or fauna surveys in the ACT region. Prior experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data is also essential.

As an Ecologist with Umwelt, you will be part of a well-respected team dedicated to providing specialist advice to balance development, impact avoidance, and offsetting results that achieve the best possible environmental outcome. You will work collaboratively with clients, government agencies and fellow team members to deliver high-quality services and contribute to the growth and success of our business.

Key qualifications and skills:

  • Degree or post-graduate qualification in environmental science, botany, zoology or a similar field.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating and undertaking flora and/or fauna surveys in the ACT region.
  • Prior experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • High level of motivation and self-direction.
