Key Role: Senior Ruminant Nutritionist & Innovation Lead

Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role in animal nutrition, where you will be responsible for driving innovation projects and leading cross-functional teams.

You will have a strong technical background in ruminant nutrition, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead and support your colleagues. You will also have a proven track record of delivering successful innovation projects with a primary focus on dairy, but also including beef, sheep, and grazing cattle.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and leading innovation projects, including designing nutritional programs and formulating ruminant diets (TMR, pasture-based, and feedlots)
  • Managing projects and relationships with external R&D partners, including cross-functional teams
  • Providing technical support to commercial teams, maximizing profitability through cost-efficient solutions
  • Assisting the Procurement Team with quality control and assurance
  • Traveling to manufacturing sites and customers across Victoria, Queensland, NSW, and South Australia

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Project management skills, with experience of working across multi-functional teams
  • An MSc in Animal Nutrition or similar, with practical nutrition and feed formulation experience (+ competence with feed formulation software)
  • A background in developing innovative solutions within the ruminant nutrition industry, with experience delivering R&D or trials
  • Commercial experience, supporting sales efforts
