Nutrition Specialist Role

Optimal nutrition plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. In this rewarding position, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough nutritional assessments to understand clients' dietary needs and restrictions, developing personalized plans based on their goals and medical conditions.
  2. Provide one-on-one consultations to educate clients about proper nutrition, dietary modifications, and meal planning, setting achievable goals and monitoring progress.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and support coordinators, to ensure a holistic approach to client care plans.
  4. Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation in compliance with relevant standards and confidentiality protocols.
  5. Advocate for clients' nutritional needs, providing support in navigating funding processes related to dietetic services.
  6. Deliver group workshops and educational sessions on topics related to nutrition, healthy eating habits, and specialized dietary needs.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong understanding of the NDIS framework and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, adapting communication to suit diverse client needs.
  • Empathy, patience, and a person-centered approach to client care.
  • Organizational skills to manage a caseload and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
