Nutrition Specialist Role
Optimal nutrition plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. In this rewarding position, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough nutritional assessments to understand clients' dietary needs and restrictions, developing personalized plans based on their goals and medical conditions.
- Provide one-on-one consultations to educate clients about proper nutrition, dietary modifications, and meal planning, setting achievable goals and monitoring progress.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and support coordinators, to ensure a holistic approach to client care plans.
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation in compliance with relevant standards and confidentiality protocols.
- Advocate for clients' nutritional needs, providing support in navigating funding processes related to dietetic services.
- Deliver group workshops and educational sessions on topics related to nutrition, healthy eating habits, and specialized dietary needs.
- Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status or equivalent qualification.
- Strong understanding of the NDIS framework and guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, adapting communication to suit diverse client needs.
- Empathy, patience, and a person-centered approach to client care.
- Organizational skills to manage a caseload and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
