We are seeking a compassionate Aboriginal Health Worker to play a key role in providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed support during health assessments for Aboriginal children and young people.
In this collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will work closely with registered nurses, social workers, paediatricians, and administrative support to guide carers and young people through their healthcare journey.
About the Role:
- Provide culturally sensitive support to Aboriginal children and young people undergoing health assessments;
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualised care plans;
- Communicate effectively with carers and young people to ensure informed decision-making;
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organisations and services to enhance service delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as social work or nursing;
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities and individuals;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- High level of cultural competence and understanding of Aboriginal worldviews.
