Support Worker Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to provide personalized care and support to individuals with disabilities in their homes and communities.

This role is ideal for individuals who have a strong understanding of personal care practices, medication management, and disability support principles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as supporting clients with their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, bowel care, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with medication management and administration.
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for clients.
  • Perform domestic duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
  • Organise and accompany clients to appointments and social activities when required.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to develop and achieve their NDIS goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages clients' independence and well-being.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the disability support or healthcare sector.
  • Strong understanding of personal care practices and medication management is a mandatory.
  • Bowel care experience and/or Manual Handling training highly regarded.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for improving the lives of individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Flexibility to travel to various locations and adapt to different client needs.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and experience with client management systems.
  • Current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
