This is a pivotal leadership position, overseeing the technical direction and operational oversight of an engineering team responsible for delivering high-priority communication solutions to various clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic technical guidance across multiple technologies including LAN/WAN switching and routing, APCO P25 radio systems, mobile data systems, Windows and Linux-based operating system administration.
- Ensure the operational health, security, and maintenance of critical public safety systems managed by the Operations Engineering team.
- Maintain day-to-day operational priorities and activities of the operations engineering team.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for Network Operations Control Centre (NOCC) staff and Field and Operations Engineers requiring technical support.
- Proactively identify systemic issues with operational or customer impact and drive resolution in accordance with ITIL framework principles.
- Maintain and enhance the accuracy and completeness of technical, procedural, and as-built documentation.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in ITIL service management processes and procedures, with a strong background in telecommunications, land mobile radio (LMR), microwave transmission network experience, CISCO/Juniper networking certifications, Microsoft/Linux certifications, knowledge in Crystal and SQL reporting, and familiarity with Motorola P25 system experience.
Requirements- Tertiary qualifications in Electronics/Computer Systems Engineering or similar (Extensive industry experience will be considered as an alternative).
