Workforce Relations Specialist

The Victorian Government seeks a professional to lead the development and improvement of high-quality HR policy in relation to workforces.
This role requires strong skills and experience in employee and industrial relations, including supporting recruitment activity, resolving issues about terms and conditions of employment, building and maintaining client and stakeholder relationships, delivering excellent customer service, providing advisory support in resolving complex queries, and coaching around high-level people management issues.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of business needs and use data intelligence to identify issues. They will provide solutions, strategic advice, and counselling in areas such as underperformance, case managing employee relations issues, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
About The Role
- Lead the development and continual improvement of high-quality strategic HR policy in relation to workforces.
- Act as policy lead for key initiatives, including legislative change.
- Manage effective stakeholder relationships between departments and external agencies and service providers.
- Develop a deep understanding of business operations and deepen insights through data analysis.
- Provide solutions, strategic advice, and guidance in areas such as performance management, conflict resolution, and policy implementation.
Key Requirements
- Strong skills and experience in employee and industrial relations.
- Ability to support recruitment, resolve employment issues, build relationships, deliver customer service, provide advisory support, and coach on people management.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field desirable but not essential.
