We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English teacher to join our team at St Mary MacKillop College, Canberra's largest secondary school.

As an English teacher with us, you will have the opportunity to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best in a safe and supportive learning environment.

The successful candidate will possess strong literacy skills, particularly in written communication, and be able to differentiate instruction to challenge and extend students of diverse abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and manage a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Apply pedagogical practices in the area of English Education to motivate and engage students.
  • Differentiate instruction to challenge and extend students of diverse abilities.
  • Build and maintain relationships of trust and respect with students.
  • Analyse and reflect on student learning data to maximise learning growth for all students.
  • Contribute to an inclusive environment for students and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues as a member of team.
  • Utilise strong literacy skills, particularly in written communication.
  • Employ highly developed organisational skills and a commitment to ongoing professional learning.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.

You must also possess relevant qualifications, including a Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching, and Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and/or Working with Children Check (WWCC) registration.

A competitive salary of $80,184 to $130,910 per year, plus superannuation, is available for the right candidate.
