Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at People Group, a trailblazer in the freight forwarding industry in Australia. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in growing our market share and expanding our customer base.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and secure new business opportunities in the freight forwarding industry
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients
- Prepare and present proposals and tenders to senior decision-makers
- Negotiate rate and service agreements with prospects and service providers
- Design and implement standard operating procedures for new business
- Plan and develop presentations to engage key figures in client organizations
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Business Development role
- Local market experience is essential
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Freight Forwarding Sales
- Business Development Manager Experience
- Previous management experience with a strong ability to drive, develop and motivate team members
- Advanced negotiation and relationship skills
- Experience influencing and engaging key figures in client organizations
- Strong financial expertise with demonstrated ability to develop and implement business structures
- Positive and professional attitude
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
- High attention to detail and strong planning and organizing skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
