About the Role

Epiroc Australia is a leading global company operating in 150 countries, employing over 13,000 people worldwide. With a strong focus on automation technology, Epiroc markets and services well-known mining equipment, as well as extensive ranges of consumables and other mining and construction-related equipment.

We are currently seeking a Strategic Procurement Specialist to provide an optimized supplier base for local parts with Epiroc's business roles and strategies. Emphasizing a positive customer-oriented attitude, you will champion Epiroc's role as a true productivity partner for our customers, fostering lasting relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Identification and Pricing: Identify and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing for local parts.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth communication and resource coordination.
  • Collaboration with Sourcing Contacts: Work closely with sourcing contacts to ensure alignment with business strategies and goals.
  • Corporate Governance and Standards: Ensure compliance with corporate governance and standards in procurement practices.
  • Strategic Purchasing Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procurement activities.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete various administrative requirements, including loading quotations, submitting standard cost changes, and ensuring availability of parts and accurate pricing.
  • Request for Quotes and Purchase Agreements: Coordinate with suppliers to obtain quotes and negotiate purchase agreements.
  • Resolving Supplier Invoices: Resolve any issues related to supplier invoices in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Sourcing Data Management: Manage and maintain accurate sourcing data to inform procurement decisions.

Requirements

  • End-to-End ERP Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the entire ERP system.
  • Process Knowledge: Ability to follow standardized processes to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Product Knowledge and Technical Skills: Deep understanding of the products and materials being sourced, along with technical skills related to their specifications and requirements.
  • Good Analytical Skills in Excel and Power BI: Preferred skills for data analysis and visualization.
  • Goal-Oriented: Ability to set and achieve goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem Solver: Strong problem-solving skills to resolve complex procurement issues.
  • Networking Skills: Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Keeping the customer at the forefront of decision-making and action.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills and Business Knowledge: Ability to negotiate with suppliers and make informed business decisions.
  • Attention to Detail and Document Control: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • High Energy Level and Sense of Urgency: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of energy and urgency.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Process Improvement: Ability to analyze and improve processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Qualifications in Purchasing, Sourcing, Project Management or Supply Chain: Preferred qualifications demonstrating commitment to professional development and expertise in the field.
