{"About the Role": "We are seeking an experienced Risk Underwriter to join our team in Sydney. As a Risk Underwriter, you will be responsible for delivering a profitable underwriting service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

* Underwrite business within agreed business plans and individual authorities
* Support business planning and forecasting processes
* Monitor financial exposure within outlined limits
* Maintain awareness of all claims advised and support settlement of claims
* Ensure adequate reinsurance acquired to cover specific risks
* Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients

Essential Skills and Abilities:

* Bachelor's Degree preferred and equivalent experience in the relevant class of business
* Ability to read and analyze financial statements
* Use judgment to identify and solve day-to-day problems in straightforward situations
* Marketing - effectively plan for sales and business development
* Negotiation/Sales - plan, structure and conduct negotiations with brokers and/or clients
* Analytical Skills – visualize, gather information, articulate, analyze and solve complex problems
* Interpersonal Savvy – build excellent interpersonal relationships with brokers, clients & colleagues
* Strategy and Planning - make underwriting decisions to fulfill business strategic plan and deliver results
* Industry Knowledge - understanding of the insurance industry and specific product portfolios
