Peripatetic Trumpet Tutor Position

We are seeking a skilled and passionate instrumental music educator to teach trumpet students at various levels, from Year 5 to Year 11.

Lessons will be 40 minutes long, and the successful applicant will be required to organise their lesson schedule and communicate with parents and students through our teaching platform.

The Yr 5 Band program utilises a Band Method book to guide lessons in the early stages, and all students meet weekly for an ensemble rehearsal as well as their group lesson on their instrument.

There is potential for the successful applicant to also be involved in one of our ensembles, depending on their time availability.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A commitment to supporting our Christian ethos
  • Possession of appropriate tertiary qualifications and a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • A passion and energy for developing young musicians through a broad approach to music encompassing all styles
  • Familiarity with a variety of teaching and learning strategies to meet students' needs
  • The ability to communicate effectively with people and be a team player
  • High level interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and develop positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills, including punctuality
  • An understanding of young people and empathy
  • Good computer literacy skills

The successful applicant must hold a Working With Children Card (or be able to apply) and a National Police Clearance (no more than 3 months old).
