The Team Leader Older Persons Mental Health Service role is a leadership opportunity that involves leading a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical leadership and support for older persons experiencing mental health problems.

As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for establishing close working relationships with stakeholders, maintaining clinical responsibility through face-to-face contact with consumers, carers and families, and supporting consumer and carer rights in clinical settings.

This role offers an opportunity for individuals with relevant qualifications and experience to take on a leadership position and make a positive impact on the lives of older people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and support to the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Establish close working relationships with stakeholders to support timely admission and discharge to aid patient flow and community care.
  • Maintain clinical responsibility through face-to-face contact with consumers, carers and families.
  • Support and promote consumer and carer rights in clinical settings.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have relevant qualifications in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Nursing with current AHPRA registration. You will also need to have a fascination with the lives of older people and a commitment to empowering and supporting older mental health consumers with dignity and a recovery focus.

You will also need to have strong problem-solving and quick-thinking abilities, as well as an interest in leading a diverse multidisciplinary team.
