A dynamic and challenging opportunity exists for a Senior Staff Specialist Psychiatrist to join the Sutherland Hospital Mental Health Service in a key leadership position. You will be part of an enthusiastic team working at this award-winning, well-respected community hospital.
The Clinical Director will provide strong leadership vision, advocate for, and understand, the healthcare needs of the community. Deliver a consumer-focused healthcare service that meets these needs through medical leadership and collaboration with a highly committed consumer-centred team.
About The Role:- Responsible for medical leadership and development of high-quality mental health services.
- Collaborate with a highly committed consumer-centred team to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Provide strong leadership vision and advocacy for the healthcare needs of the community.
This is a permanent position, comprising 0.5FTE Clinical Director role and 0.5FTE Staff Specialist role in Adult Psychiatry. The Clinical Director reports to and works in collaboration with the Service Director, with professional accountability to the District Clinical Director.
About The Mental Health Service:The Sutherland Mental Health Service comprises a 28-bed Acute MH Unit, a 5-bed MH Rehabilitation Unit, and Mental Health Community Teams providing Care Coordination and Acute Care support to consumers in the community.
The MHS is situated within the Sutherland General Hospital, which has 375 general medical beds.

Key Responsibilities:- Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance and quality improvement processes associated with the provision of mental health services.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience at a senior level relevant to the role.
