Role Summary

This role offers the opportunity to work as a Peer Work Trainer, supporting and mentoring students completing their Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Peer Work Trainer to co-facilitate reflective practice sessions, provide one-on-one mentoring, and support peer-led programs within services like the Op Shop, Emergency Relief, and Hartley's Café.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-facilitate reflective practice sessions with students to promote personal growth and development.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students through one-on-one mentoring, helping them achieve their goals.
  • Support the delivery of peer-led programs within services, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual support.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent).
  • Lived and/or living experience of mental health and/or AOD recovery.
  • Experience working as a peer worker in a professional setting.
  • Strong understanding of challenges faced by people experiencing mental health and/or AOD issues.
  • Ability to share lived experience in a way that inspires hope and supports recovery.
  • IPS (Individual Placement and Support) training.
