Job Summary

This role leads a team of production professionals, overseeing daily operations to meet safety, quality, and performance targets.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion a Zero Harm culture and lead safety-first operations.
  • Manage the efficient operation of production processes.
  • Develop a team of supervisors and production staff, promoting high engagement through trust, shared purpose, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and manage production targets, ensuring effective workload distribution and timely communication with team members.
  • Oversee financial accountability within the production area.
  • Ensure team member development and effective flexing of the workforce through cross-skilling, training matrices, and performance reviews.
  • Assist with the effective management of industrial relations matters, including maintaining constructive relationships with unions and employee representatives, enterprise agreement negotiations, and managing employment relations matters.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Highly experienced production professional.
  • Experienced manager able to lift capability through coaching, mentoring, and development.
  • Outcome-focused, resilient, and adaptable.
  • Strong safety focus with a preventative/proactive approach and the ability to manage any OH&S issues to resolution.
  • Understanding of industrial relations frameworks, including interpreting enterprise agreements, managing union relationships, and bargaining.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles would be advantageous.
  • A tertiary (Bachelor's or Diploma level) qualification in engineering/supply chain is highly desirable although appropriate direct experience is equally valued.
