Key Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled professional to develop and deliver an industrial relations strategy that aligns with business objectives and manages risk.

  • To contribute to the development and delivery of an industrial relations strategy that aligns with business objectives and manages risk, ensuring optimal business outcomes.
  • To establish and maintain stakeholder and union relationships across the business and externally, fostering productive partnerships.
  • To execute and implement Enterprise Agreement negotiation strategies, securing favorable outcomes.
  • To develop and adhere to policies, procedures, governance frameworks, toolkits, and training related to industrial relations matters, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • To provide expert advice and training to stakeholders across the program, promoting effective decision-making.
  • To manage investigations and disciplinary processes for the program, resolving issues efficiently.
  • To proactively resolve IR matters, disputes, and grievances, achieving optimal business results.
  • To provide high-level strategic advice to Integrated Project Teams regarding workforce composition and planning, driving business success.
About Required Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Employment Law, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in contributing to the development of an IR strategy, with a strong understanding of employment law and industrial relations.
  • Demonstrated 5-10 years' work experience in a Legal/Industrial relations-based role, with expertise in negotiating enterprise agreements.
  • Experience working with International Joint Venture programs and applying transfer of business provisions, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Proven experience in executing negotiation strategies, managing IR disputes, and developing productive relationships with trade unions.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant industrial instruments (e.g., National Employment Standards, Fair Work Act, Enterprise Agreements), with the ability to apply critical thinking to effectively resolve issues and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage employee performance management matters, grievances, and coach leaders through resolutions, promoting effective leadership.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with a high level of resilience in a fast-paced environment.
