
Senior Disaster Management Leader

The role of this senior leadership position involves providing executive direction to disaster management operations, taking initiative in developing and coordinating statewide initiatives for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement effective disaster management strategies across all phases (Prevention, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery) within the health sector and at state agency level.
- Lead and manage priority programs, ensuring successful delivery and high-quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to bring together information and provide advice to senior stakeholders, including ministers and director-generals.
- Provide leadership on executive services management, including functions relating to cabinet and parliamentary processes, correspondence, and briefing note management activities.
**Requirements:**
- Demonstrated experience in disaster management, preferably within the health sector and at state agency level.
- Proven success as a strategic leader with experience in managing and delivering priority programs.
- Ability to work within complex systems or organisations with devolved accountabilities and responsibilities.
- Degree in medicine from a registered tertiary institution.
- Fellowship of an Australian medical specialist college.
- Unrestricted general and specialist registration as a medical officer with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Minimum of five years' senior healthcare leadership experience.
