About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join our team at Monash Children's Hospital. In this challenging yet rewarding position, you'll provide leadership to paediatric social workers across various teams, ensuring that every child receives the best possible support during their hospital stay. Your expertise will guide quality initiatives and research projects, driving continuous improvement and excellence in care delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor junior social workers in the development of psychosocial interventions, risk assessments, and grief support strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and family engagement.
  • Develop and implement training programs to strengthen social work practices within the department.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, leveraging data analysis and expert knowledge to inform decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to clinical governance standards.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work, with eligibility for ordinary membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in acute healthcare settings, preferably in paediatrics or children's services.
  • Advanced knowledge of child protection principles, psychosocial assessment frameworks, and grief support strategies.
  • Proven leadership skills, with ability to motivate and guide junior staff members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with capacity to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
