Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Specialist to join our team as a full-time, fixed-term Planner - Community Strengthening until February 2026. The role will involve working closely with other departments and the community to plan and deliver community infrastructure projects that strengthen neighbourhood connections.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience in designing and implementing strategies to facilitate high-quality community services and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Planning and Development: Collaborate with colleagues to identify community needs for services and facilities, preparing needs assessments for community facility projects and funding submissions.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and effective collaboration with project partners.
  • Capacity Building: Strengthen the business unit by building the capacity of community organisations through training and resource development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in community planning and engagement, with a proven track record of delivering successful community projects.
  • Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in social sciences or a related field, such as a degree in sociology, psychology, or community development.
  • Skills: Strong partnership development and communication skills, including the ability to write reports and submissions for diverse audiences.
