Job Title: Demi Chef

At Pullman, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Demi Chef to join our culinary team at Bacar, our signature restaurant. As a Demi Chef, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, preparing high-quality dishes, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the chef in charge to maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Prepare and maintain mise en place for all relevant menus, ensuring consistency and efficiency in food preparation.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food production, meeting the high standards set by the hotel.
  • Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage, and assist with ordering necessary food items.
  • Comply with all WHS, food safety legislation, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest feedback and ensuring that all interactions are professional and courteous.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of work experience as a Demi Chef in a hotel or restaurant with high food quality standards.
  • Ability to operate various kitchen equipment and practice sound cooking techniques.
  • Completion of Chef Apprenticeship or Certificate in commercial cookery.
  • Good food hygiene and safety knowledge, including safe and accurate knife skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in a variety of different cooking methods.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.
