Job Description

This is a unique opportunity for experienced nurses to step up into an Emergency and Critical Care Team Leader position, working closely with the Nurse Manager and other Nurse Team Leaders.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day staffing in conjunction with the Nurse Manager and Nurse Team Leaders
  • Lead and manage the ECC team alongside another ECC Nurse Team Leader
  • Conduct regular meetings, mentoring, and support for the team
  • Admit and triage emergency patients
  • Provide support for all medical procedures on critical care patients
  • Deliver on-the-job training and coaching to develop team members
  • Plan and perform anaesthesia for unstable or critically ill patients
  • Communicate with clients upon admission and discharge
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar Emergency, referral, or after-hours care environment
  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills
