Long-Term Mine Planning Specialist

The primary role of this position is to support the creation and implementation of long-term mine plans, encompassing schedules, financial projections, and forward work initiatives. This will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless delivery of these plans.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing detailed long-term mine plans that align with organizational requirements;
  • Contributing to reserve and schedule updates for operational planning processes;
  • Evaluating strategic mine planning options to enhance operational efficiency;
  • Maintaining an inventory of medium-term designs and ensuring their alignment with organizational objectives;
  • Liaising with operational, projects, and engineering teams to guarantee plan delivery;
  • Cultivating a culture of continuous improvement within the team through coaching and mentoring;
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mining Engineering or a related field, accompanied by significant experience in large-scale mining operations, preferably in coal. Proficiency in CAD design software packages such as Deswik, Minex, or Vulcan is also highly valued.
