Job Title: Mine Planning Specialist

Mining engineers play a vital role in the success of any mining operation. The position of mine planning specialist is crucial as it requires strong technical skills and expertise in short, medium, and long-term mine planning, drill and blast engineering, pit geology, and survey.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the production of LOM plans per regulatory requirements, contributing to reserves and schedules for the budget and 5-year plan processes, evaluating mine planning options to improve operational efficiency, maintaining an inventory of medium-term designs, out to 18 months, liaising with the operational and projects teams to ensure delivery of the plan, coaching and mentoring other team members, monitoring compliance to legislative requirements and site standards, and applying a continuous improvement methodology.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of life-of-mine plans;
  • Contribute to reserve estimation and scheduling activities;
  • Evaluate mine planning alternatives to enhance operational efficiency;
  • Manage medium-term designs and ensure effective communication among stakeholders;
  • Cultivate a culture of excellence through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing;
  • Maintain adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards;
  • Promote process improvement across all functions.
