
Strategic Partnership Lead

The Head of Partnerships is responsible for driving the partnership with a major retailer. Reporting to the General Manager, the key focus for this role will be to advocate for and drive the partnership to achieve win-win outcomes for both parties.
This role requires the ability to manage competing priorities and risks while maintaining strong long-term partner relationships. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in leading teams directly and indirectly, driving results through strong leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the partnership from a sales and retention performance perspective, relationship management, and contract governance perspective.
- Manage daily performance and engagement with the partner.
- Manage contractual commitments and ensure relevant risk & control frameworks align with these commitments.
- Maintain strong long-term partner relationships.
- Manage competing priorities and risks.
- Oversight and management of compliance and governance frameworks relating to the partnership.
- Support audits and manage governance frameworks.
- Drive the growth of the partnership.
- Manage partner-related complaints and incidents in line with established complaints management and incident management frameworks.
- Report on program compliance and improve processes.
- Work with the General Manager to align priorities.
- Translate strategic objectives into operational plans for the partnership.
- Support the development and growth of the team.
- Drive commercial and financial analysis and any negotiations to support win-win outcomes for the partnership.
- Foster a culture to support a highly engaged, high-performance team.
Essential Experience:
- Hands-on experience in leading teams directly and indirectly, driving results through strong leadership.
- Expertise in design thinking, process engineering, and problem-solving using formal programs and processes.
- Successful management and collaboration with cross-functional teams and navigation of organisational changes across all business levels.
- Experience designing and implementing continuous improvement frameworks within multi-departmental organisations.
- Skilled at building trust, managing team dynamics, and motivating people.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively coach, lead, engage, and develop small teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
- A formal qualification in a relevant field, such as a degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
Desirable Experience:
- At minimum 7 years' experience in partner account management.
- A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
- Proven success in onboarding, managing, and growing partnerships.
- In-depth experience and understanding of the insurance industry.
