About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Officer to play a pivotal role in promoting mental health awareness and services in the local community.

This is a key position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse groups and individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and enhance understanding of mental health services offered at our Centre, Moruya.
  • Coordinate community awareness activities and events to support mental health initiatives.
  • Represent us at community forums and events to foster partnerships and collaborations.
  • Develop and maintain local relationships to integrate our Centre into the mental health and wellbeing sector.
  • Lead consumer participation approaches at the Centre.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in a relevant field or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences, or education.

A deep understanding of the needs of consumers with mental health and/or substance use problems is essential, as well as knowledge of the requirements of diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, and LGBTI communities.
