Expert Cost Consultant Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to play a critical role in supporting the preparation and assessment of cost-related claims, including variations, delays, and disruptions.

This position involves:

  • Analysing and preparing cost claims related to variations, delays, and disruptions
  • Preparing and reviewing pre-construction feasibilities, cost plans, and commercial data
  • Administering contracts and managing change processes, ensuring alignment with contractual entitlements
  • Developing clear, evidence-based reports to support negotiations and dispute resolution
  • Engaging with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations and deliver strategic cost advice

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 3 years post graduate experience in quantity surveying or cost management roles
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Experience in using tools such as CostX and PowerBi
  • Demonstrated experience in the pre-construction feasibilities and cost planning
  • Proficient in preparing tendering documents with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate claims progress to project managers and clients
  • Exposure to, and knowledge of, claims within the pre-construction phase
  • Experience in contract administration including change management on projects
  • Proficiency in commercial management and interpretation of cost data
  • Experience engaging directly with clients and managing client expectations including building and maintaining excellent customer relationships at all project stages
  • Exposure to Health, Road, Rail and infrastructure sectors is highly regarded
  • Previous experience in a consultancy setting is highly regarded
