High-End Fire Protection Engineer Opportunity
A leading engineering firm in Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Services Engineer to join their team. This role will involve providing specialist advice on fire protection engineering to management, clients, and other disciplines.
About the Company
The company boasts a broad portfolio of building projects, including aged care, commercial, community, education, government, health, hospitality, residential, retail, and transportation. Their building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades, and seismic design. They prioritize sustainability principles in every design.
The Role
This high-end senior level role offers scope for progression and work/life balance. As a senior professional, you will contribute to the winning, management, and delivery of moderate to large-scale projects. Your responsibilities will include managing resources, budgets, and timelines while enhancing client and working relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage projects efficiently, meeting deadlines, staying within budget, and adhering to statutory and company guidelines.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements for fire safety systems in buildings.
- Participate in developing and fostering client objectives to achieve life safety, property protection, business continuity, and sustainable design in fire protection.
- Assist with reporting, billing, and monitoring variations promptly.
- Perform quantitative risk analysis and assessment.
- Conduct design reviews, third-party inspections, and verifications.
- Develop fire systems specifications and designs.
- Create sprinkler system designs.
- Design hydrant/hose reel systems.
- Design fire detection systems.
- Design gas/foam suppression systems.
Requirements:
- An appropriate tertiary engineering qualification with an emphasis on fire systems and/or fire engineering practices.
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Membership in an appropriate registered body recognizing qualifications and experience in fire protection, fire design, and fire practices.
- Experience in successfully leading project teams.
Salary: AU$140,000 - AU$180,000 per annum
