The Catholic Education Office invites applications for a permanent part-time EAL/D Teacher position at St John the Evangelist Catholic Parish Primary School, Campbelltown.

Position Overview

This role sits within the Learning K-12 Team and requires significant experience in curriculum and the capacity to support EAL/D students within Primary Schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the School Leadership Team and CEDoW EAL/D Officers to implement the EAL/D Management Plan.
  • Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities to build teacher capacity.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and respond to the collection of student work samples and assessment data.
  • Support EAL/D students' learning needs through collaborative planning, co-teaching, and student learning plans.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School.
  • Apply expert knowledge of diverse EAL/D student needs to support their full participation in learning.
  • Facilitate the analysis of student work samples using the ACARA EAL/D Learning Progressions to direct teaching and learning.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.

General Capabilities

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.

Qualifications

  • University TESOL training or a willingness to undertake such training.
  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching Primary K-6.
  • Accredited Level B to teach Religious Education in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy.

Working with Children Clearance

This role requires a Working With Children Check prior to employment with CEDoW.
